Color me mycosified! Cavern Deep deliver another highly immersive cavernous slab of their subterranean tunes, very much in the spirit and quality of the first. Their wavering melodies and airy passages paired with crushing chord progressions carrying crushing tones really hit hard: excellently weird songwriting. Rather than feeling like a gimmick, they conjure an atmosphere that is genuinely strange and inhuman, with shades of science fiction and body horror, like luminescent fungi in the dark.
